James Hamilton

James Hamilton

James Hamilton is a farmer from Narromine, located in central New South Wales. The farming enterprise consists of dryland cereal production, irrigated summer crops and opportunity livestock trading.

Before returning to the region where he grew up, Mr Hamilton worked for BHP Pty Ltd as an Account Manager for the Wire Products division where he was responsible for the Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea. Mr Hamilton left Sydney to return to farming in 1998.

At a local level, Mr Hamilton is Chairman of the local branch of the NSW Farmers Association and Chairman of the recently appointed Trangie Research Centre Steering Committee. On a national level, Mr Hamilton is a member of AWB Ltd Managing Directors Roundtable – a body of 21 wheat growers from across Australia who provide advice to the Managing Director.

Mr Hamilton holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Systems Agriculture), a Diploma of International Trade Management and is part way through completing a diploma through the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
